How opening sequences introduce characters

Ill be analysing ways in which characters are created and shown in the opening sequences. ive chosen two trailers from different genres so when i analyse them ill be able to see the similarities and differences between them both.


Inside man:



Characters are shown and created through:

• The main character talking to the audience giving a story.
• a set of locations to show where the character is based 
• back story about the character.
• dialog over shots.

Blade runner:

characters are shown and created here through:

• The use of text to give a back story about what is happening. 
• location shots to show where the character is and is bases.
• voice over and dialog.
